There's wholesome ships and there's toxic ships, but I'd like to coin 'sodium chloride ships', where the individuals involved are both horrible and dangerous people, but somehow being together renders them surprisingly well-adjusted (if a little salty).

The opposite of this is a 'coke and mentos' dynamic, where the two people are generally chill and likeable but being around each other makes them both wild and chaotic.

Here's the breakdown:

A chart with two axes. The horizontal axis is labelled 'make each other worse' on the left and 'make each other better' on the right. The vertical axis is labelled 'good people' at the top and 'bad people' at the bottom. The section for 'good people'/'make each other worse' is labelled 'coke and mentos ship'. The section for 'good people'/'make each other better' is labelled 'wholesome ship'. The section for 'bad people'/'make each other worse' is labelled 'toxic ship'. The section for 'bad people'/'make each other better' is labelled 'sodium chloride ship'.ALT

i’m not posting the actual tiktok because it involves another patient being recorded without their knowledge and clearly not doing okay but y’all we were so close to mental illness being destigmatized. we were so close but now the general public sees mental illness as two separate groups - the quirky relatable depression and anxiety, and the weird cringy scary schizo-spectrum disorders, ocd, personality disorders, and so on. #mentalhealthmatters as long as it’s not one of those weird scary illnesses

These people acting like nt ppl don't think killing urself and self harm is "just as crazy" the lack of empathy is insane

Wait. Wait.
Wait.
I know that telephone pole.
I know that telephone pole intimately because I’m the one who broke it.
Thats...

Mundane America. Broken pole with rope and an American Flag. Cincinnati, Ohio.

Wait.  Wait.

Wait.

I know that telephone pole.

I know that telephone pole intimately because I’m the one who broke it.

Thats the pole next to Sycamore Jr. High, in between the jr high school and Pipkins, where I had my second car accident.  A woman t-boned my car and drove me into that pole in 2008 and it took them years to actually take it down.

That black metal pole you see just beyond the broken phone pole is a “Now Leaving/Welcome To Blue Ash, Ohio” sign, visible at 5520 Cooper Road on google maps.

(the flag is there, btw, because its the starting point for the Blue Ash/Montgomery July 4th parade.)

The internet is so staggeringly immense that I can’t help but be disproportionately delighted when things like this happen.

There is no way in hell I'm clicking that link hahaha

let the virus into your heart

Hang on, I'm gonna pull it up in a sandbox and find out what flavour of malware it is, brb

so what flavor was it?

Right, I forgot to report back

It was the funniest kind possible in this context: genuinely a PDF of someone's spiritual book. Malware for the mind.

Specifically, it's a book by a convicted murderer and cult leader named Rampal who leads a sect of the Kabir Panth denomination of the Sant Mat religion, which is itself a sort of highly-heterodox offshoot of Hinduism.

I would prefer normal malware tbh
